Conversations Within

Thoughts began to surface. They did not feel new. If anything, they felt strangely familiar, as though they had been waiting patiently beneath the routines of everyday life. I had simply never heard them quite so clearly before.

When I tried to analyse those thoughts further and trace where the dialogue within me had begun, a quiet realisation dawned. I was not searching for a beginning. I was simply trying to identify the comma from which I could honestly invite another conversationalist into a Conversation that had always been there: the Conversation Within.

As you read these pages, you might wonder what I am writing about. To me, this is a collection of conversations that compel me to dig deeper within myself, searching not merely for answers, but also for the courage to question those answers once they appear. The process is something like a social debate, or the attempt to solve a complicated mathematical problem: each proposition invites another response, and the discussion moves to and fro. If, by the end, you have an interpretation of your own, I would be happy to understand it. Different perspectives may help all of us enrich our collective understanding.

Here I would like to draw upon a Sanskrit aphorism in support of conversational debate as a means of enrichment.
